Botanist discovered a new species of Pseudarthria genus
In 2014, Pan Bo, an experimenter of the biodiversity research group of BRG, discovered the shrub, which resembles the genus Desmodium of the mountain leeches locust, in a plant survey of Menghai. Subsequently, in cooperation with the Iting researcher and Dr. Zhang Rong of Kunming plant, after careful morphological observation, specimen study, literature review, combined with the study of chloroplast matK and rbcL fragment molecular systematics, it was confirmed that this was an unpublished new species of Pseudarthria Wight & Arnott . This genus is also a new record genus in China.

There are about 6 species of the genus of Pseudarthria, a small legume genus of the old world, most of which are produced in the area of Sava, Africa. Asia records a sticky fake festival leeches locust p. Viscida. The genus is three lobes of herbs, shrubs or semi-shrubs, and the genus leeches locust is very similar, the morphological difference is only pod does not break. The difference between this species and the leeches locust is: the plant is erect, higher, the flowering period is late, the tip of the leaf is acuminate, the flowers are light purple, the pod is long, and the seeds are the majority.

Phenology and distribution: The flowering period is short, from late September to early October. Fruit period October to December. The species is located in Yunnan's Evergreen Mountain broad-leaved forests, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, at an altitude of 900–2000 m. Each population in this species is usually only a 3–5 strain. The Menghai group was seriously endangered by Conapium Schenklingiwagner (1914).

P. Viscida Can be used to treat fever, asthma, tuberculosis, etc., Medicinal value of P. paniimay also be explored.

The new species”Pseudarthria panii (Fabaceae: Desmodieae), a new species from Asia, 120 years after its first collection” has been publishd in Phytotaxa.
